A Shepherd with No Sheep

Yesterday as I was getting Jack ready for the church Christmas program, he looked at me with his big eyes and said, "I can't be a shepherd today." I thought to myself, "Oh no, here we go." Last year he was supposed to be a wiseman. He made it to the stage and I was on the floor below him. He turned and took a flying leap right into my lap. So I just pictured the flying leap without me sitting below to catch him. So I bravely said, "Why not?" And he quietly said (with a little panic in his tiny voice), "I not have any sheep." So what is a mother to do when her shepherd boy has no sheep? Take two stuffed sheep. He was perfect.

That was a great story! Maybe the best fix I've read this season. =)
